Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Cook the broccoli until it's soft, either by steaming or boiling it. Then, drain it and put it aside.
  • In a big pot, melt some butter on medium heat. Add flour and whisk it until it's smooth and bubbly.
  • Slowly pour in the milk and broth while whisking until everything is smooth. Then, add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper if you like a bit of heat. Stir it all together.
  • Let it simmer while stirring until it gets thick.
  • Add the shredded cheddar cheese bit by bit, stirring until it melts and becomes smooth.
  • Put the cooked broccoli into the pot and mix it all up.
  • Taste it and add salt if needed.
  • Serve it hot, and enjoy your delicious soup!
